Over the fourth of July weekend, my parents were generous enough to take us on a trip to Sun Valley, ID. We stayed in an awesome cabin surrounded by hills and trees and best of all, a deep quiet. My dad lived here for only a few short years when he was a young teenager, but it made a lasting impression on him, so it was fun to go back together as a family and to have him tell us about some of his memories there. Some of my favorite activities included eating at Rico's,--seriously an amazing restaurant, must try the meatballs and alfredo sauce!--driving over the mountains to Red Fish Lake, and walking on the many paths surrounding our cabin. Oh and I can't forget the Kneadery! We went there for breakfast twice, it was that good.

Ketchum is such a cool little mountain town. My breath was literally taken away when we first drove in. You feel completely surrounded by mountains and pine trees, tucked away in this small resort town. While I was nervous to take Rhett on his first road trip, he did great and I was so happy to have many willing hands to hold him and rock him to sleep, especially while we were at restaurants or out and about.

I am so lucky to have my family. My parents are already the greatest grandparents (even if they are a bit crazed, dare I say, obsessed? over him). And of course Rach is the ultimate sister so naturally she makes the ultimate aunt. This trip was very much needed and it made Rhett's first fourth of July memorable in so many ways.

This summer is going by way too fast.
1. I really wish now that in that first picture of me, my purse strap was one of a pair of suspenders.
ReplyDelete2. I love Rhett's adventure pants.
SO fun! Looks like you had a blast! I love his cute pouty face. :)
