We're in Wonderland

It seems that spring is finally here (keep your fingers crossed)! I am absolutely loving being able to walk outside and feel sunshine and see the blue sky. The big tree in front of our building is blooming pink blossoms and it is stunning. When we went out on the patio the other day Clarence remarked that it looks like something out of Wonderland; that's what spring really does feel like, especially after a long winter.

Spring brings back so many memories of first meeting Clarence and those first months of us getting to know each other. An appropriate time of year for the start of our relationship, I think.

April is going by so fast. This week I'll graduate from BYU! Been a long time coming, I'll tell you what. Even though I'm more excited than I can say, it's also sad in a way. I've always had school to rely on as what I'm "doing" in life. Every fall, without fail, I had school to look forward to. With graduation, my safety net is going to be gone. I can't help thinking, now what? It almost feels as if I'm losing the ground beneath my feet and that's very scary to me. I'm not the kind of person to just go with it. I need to have a plan in place and follow that plan; I'm just glad that I have a husband and a family to rely on for the support I'll need these next few months.

On a happy note, Clarence is doing absolutely amazing in the graphic design program at the U. I'm so proud of him and all of his hard work. I don't know anyone else who would pull an all-nighter at least once a week to work on his projects. This past week, on Thursday, Rach and I met him up at the U for the annual student art exhibit; Clarence has two pieces in the exhibit, and he won an award for his graphic design piece. After the show, we went to the Pie and feasted on their pull apart bread and mushroom-olive-pepperoni pizza. It was an awesome night with my two favorite people in the world, my two best friends.

With spring also comes the much-awaited Spring playlists. Clarence associates every song with a different time of year, which means that he can only listen to these songs at that time of year. Enter in his playlists; he has several for each time of year and occasion. At first I didn't really get this, but now I see how it makes listening to these songs more of an event that you anticipate all year long. It also gets you excited for the time of year to come, because the songs have feelings and memories connected to them that make you nostalgic and prepare you for the new season. Here are two songs that are new this year and will be added to our Spring playlists.

"Locked in the Basement," The Boxer Rebellion

"Civilian," Wye Oak

P.S. I will shortly be marrying the singer of The Boxer Rebellion and living in the space where they recorded this song. Just thought you should know.
